Adopt a Family
Super Storm Sandy ripped through small towns of our Jersey shore, leaving total devastation and a long road to recovery. Families and communities need our support to rebuild and lift themselves from the debris and despair that weighs heavy on each one of them. In keeping with our mission, Providing Hope is adopting families who have been affected and/ or displaced by Super Storm Sandy.
Since the storm hit, Providing Hope has partnered with the Community YMCA and local school districts to bring some relief to assist with the healing and recovering process. Providing Hope cares about the well-being of our families and neighbors and will continue to assist.
Highlighted Family of the Month
Super Storm Emergency Applicant Recipient – Melissa Judowski
Melissa moved from Bayonne to the Jersey Shore in 2005. Since 2005, she and her family have resided in Keansburg, Monmouth County. Her family, which consists of three generations, evacuated during Hurricane Irene, and since the predicted outcome of Irene fell short, Melissa decided to wait out Sandy.

The wrath of Sandy quickly approached, first in the form of flooding, then ruptured pipes and soaked wires. Sandy wreaked havoc to the entire first floor with nowhere else to go but up to the second floor.
Melissa is still renovating her home to gain full access to the first floor. Her biggest challenge was to reach her hand out for help! Providing Hope granted Melissa a monetary award in the amount of $2500.00 to assist with rebuilding and replacement of furniture.
Providing Hope recognizes Melissa’s fight to rebuild and recover while still providing a safe and secure home for her family.
